To transition into the new year, we wanted to lead the charge with a positive vibe. We anodized the tips and cap in a purple / bronze color, sanded then stonewashed the pen for a deep silver hue.

To represent the fall season, we modeled the machining grip and cap pattern from the falling leaves in the northeast, then gave it a modern twist. To finish this POTMC pen, we gave it an acid washed treatment then sanded and tumbled for a fine satin finish that also brought out the red hues from the copper.

Inspiration for this month's pen came from the Shinkansen, commonly known as the Japanese bullet train. First launched in 1964, the revolutionary Shinkansen is known for high speeds due to its aerodynamic design. Taking the design further, an updated Shinkansen 500 (launched commercially in 1997) resulted in an amazing 30% percent drop in air resistance over its predecessor.

With this month's pen, our goal was to complement the aerodynamic aesthetic of the Shinkansen by hand sanding, then take the streamlined look further with a fine hand polished finish.

To highlight the matched tips and tails to the bodies (along with continuing the aerodynamic styling of the Shinkansen) we choose to forgo the clip with this month's pen.

The inspiration for the Delta pattern came from the understanding of how we hold a pen. Although there is no "correct" way to hold a pen, the majority of people hold a pen utilizing the tripod grip with their thumb, index and middle fingers.

The tripod grip is the easiest grip for children to learn and is the standard grip taught in schools. It's more challenging to learn a new style of grip after the age of 6 so the tripod grip often remains as our primary grip.

We based the Delta grip design on the common tripod finger placement hence the Delta (or triangular) machined grip arrangement.

This is our first brass entry to the POTMC. Brass is a member of the red metal (copper) family, alloyed with zinc. As a corrosion resistant red metal, brass is an anti-microbial metal that can often be found on door knobs, plumbing valves, ammunition casings, and jewelry.

New to the TechLiner, we created a "Helix" grip design and for the first time machined the cap with the same design to match tip and tail!

To accent the Helix pattern and make it pop, we gave the pen acid wash forced patina, sanded it back, then tumbled for a smooth finish. Over time, oils from your hands will naturally patina this pen and it will become more unique to you.

We created our "Droid" grip pattern and gave titanium a TRD treatment for great wear resistance and darker look, then zapped it with a laser in our DigiCam pattern. This pen is highly recommended during a space battle!

TechLiner Dimpled Shorty -- Copper (Acid Washed)

This is our first copper entry to the POTMC. Copper has gained much popularity (and controversy) due to it's antimicrobial properties. Copper (or copper alloys) are commonly used for high touch surfaces such as railings, door knobs and in the healthcare industry. Dating back thousands of years, we have been using copper to store and transport water. Even today, the pipes carrying water through your house are most likely made of copper!

Please keep in mind that copper will kill off pathogens at a higher rate than other materials however it's not an instant process and longer for copper alloys. Be informed and be safe.

New to the TechLiner, our "Dimpled" grip design offers a less-aggressive grip pattern for a smooth feel. 

We also gave this month's pen a deep acid washed treatment for a darker look.

New to the TechLiner, we've brought our Diamond Frag grip pattern over from our billet flashlight clips. Surprisingly, we've never offered it on a TechLiner until now!

We also twice anodized the pen in Arctic/Blue and tumbled in a new selection of media to showcase the Diamond Frag grip.

TechLiner Shorty Groovy -- Titanium (Satin) 

The 5" Shorty length is a great balance between easy to carry and a classic pen length. For this month, we anodized the "Groovy" grip and brought the pen back to sleek satin finish. This is the only time we've offered the Groovy grip pattern on a pen.
